The Cyber View from the Hill

Halfway mark in the season and we Lead the Competition

This has been the best start to season for many a year. After 12 rounds and the bye this Souths will lead the competition at halfway point in the competition. Well done to our first grade team.

Reynolds NRL Top Point Scorer

After bagging another 9 points Adam Reynolds is equal top point scorer in the compeition.

GI and Merritt Top Try Scorers

Isn't it great to see that Greg Inglis and Nathan Merritt are equal leaders of the Top Try Scoresr in the NRL.

Keary debut

Luke Keary became South Sydney first grade player 1095 and had a very successful debut.

Sutton selection debacle

Unbeleavable the selection drama that unfolded with NSW SOO camp and John Sutton. As the teams were announce John Sutton was announced as being in the 17 for the SOO only 10 minutes later to have that decision reversed and being dumped. Come on NSW selectiors get your act together that was very poor form.

Round 12 - Stat Attack

Statistically we were back up after last week. All our statistics were back up this week. Completion rates were back to Top 4 standard at 81% and errors down slightly to 9. Souths Effective 1st tackle for the match improved to 33.8m. But we made 35 missed tackles which too many but with only 4 opposition offloads meant we closed down a lot of second phase play.

Looking at our left side defence - Goodwin-Walker-Sutton-Lima (3-0-2-1) dropped to 6 from 8 missed tackles last week. On the right side Everingham-Champion-Reynolds-Lowe (3-3-7-2) was terrible this week with 15 up 5 missed tackles last week.

Our go forward was increased this week to 1392m. Luke lead the way in the forwards was the best making 10+m per hitup. With George Burgess, Luke, Sutton, Lima and Asotasi making more that 100+m in the match. Defensively Luke was our best in the tackling raking up 39 tackles. With Merritt, Walker and Starling not missing a tackle.
