The Cyber View from the Hill

Dominant Victory

Souths completed a dominate win over Parramatta. While they didn't play well they were still able to cruise to a easy victory with our backup players stepping up. It also included the situation of one Buregss out another stepping in with Tom Burgess making his debut.

3 Point Lead in First Grade

In the middle of origin period Souths have broken away from the pack to grab a 3 point lead in the first grade competition. With a bye in hand we are just win away from securing another semi-final position.

Walker scores again

Dylan Walker continues to be a star of the future. So far in 2013 he has scored 13 tries and kicked 40 goals. Thats a massive 132 points across the 3 grades.

4 Origin representatives a record

With Inglis, Te'o, McQueen and Merritt taking the field together last week that set a record of 4 origin players the most ever by the South Sydney club, since the start of the Origin format in 1980.

Bring back 3 grades

We need to bring back 3 grades on match day in club colours. As a fan it is so frustrating not being able to see our fringe first graders playing week in week out. Many times we have game scheduling clashes and regional supporters just can't attend travel twice in a weekend. This really needs to be sorted out by the ARLC with national reserve grade re-introduced.

Round 15 - Stat Attack

Statistically it was a strong performance by our team, with our backup players standing up and letting our coach know they are ready if needed. Completion rates improved back to 76% with errors steady at 12 and penalties at 6. Souths Effective 1st tackle for the match again improved to 28.5m. And missed tackles dropped to a poor 27 missed tackles but we allowed only 1 opposition offloads and closed down second phase play.

Looking at our left side defence - Farrell-Goodwin-Sutton-Lowe (0-1-1-1) improved again to 3 from 5 missed tackles last week. On the right side Everingham-Walker-Reynolds-Peats (2-5-0-0) was vastly dropped to 7 from 3 missed tackles last week.

Our go forward was very good this week at 1484m. Hunt, Goodwin and Everingham lead the go forward making 10+m per run. With Sam and Tom Burgess, Sutton, Hunt, Goodwin and Everingham making more that 100+m in the match. Defensively Peats was our best in the tackling raking up 32 tackles. With Farrell, Reynolds, Asotasi, Peats, Keary and Starling not missing a tackle.
