What a Super victory

Souths put on their superman jersey and performed a domiate Superman performance with a great win. We are now 4 points clear of 2nd place and dominating in our push for the finals. One one more win to cement a semi final spot.

Tyrrell proud

There was no prouder player than our very own superman Dave Tyrrell who today stepped onto the field wearing his favourite super hero across his chest.

Postponed Games galore in NSW Cup

After finally scheduling our postponed game against Windsor mid week, the sunday game against Illawarra was postponed. Lets hope this disruption ends soon.

Phillips bags a double

In a hastely rearraged game to protect the ANZ pitch, Tyrrone Phillips bagged two tries as our U20s boys played their home ?? match at Mt Pritchard, the home of the Canberra's reserve grade feeder team.

Heffron a new home ?

After almost 60 years at Redfern, Sydney Council continues to cause drama in South Sydney use of Redfern Oval. Added to this is the issues we have had with the Leagues Club, Souths have started a bold move to relocate into our heartland and establish a new Front Office at Heffron with teh full support of Randwick council.

Round 16 - Stat Attack

Statistically it was a drop in performance by our team. Completion rates dropped back to 71% from 76% last week. With errors dropping to 14 from 12 and penalties steady at 6. Souths Effective 1st tackle for the match dropped to a average to 32.1m from 28.5m last week. And missed tackles improved to a outstanding 9 missed tackles from 27 last week. But we allowed 8 opposition offloads compared to 1 last week.

Looking at our left side defence - Merritt-Goodwin-Sutton-Lowe (0-0-1-0) improved again to 1 from 3 missed tackles last week. On the right side Hunt-Walker-Reynolds-Teo (1-1-0-2) was improved to 4 from 7 missed tackles last week.

Our go forward was dropped but still good this week at 1352m. Inglis and Tom Burgess lead the go forward making 10+m per run. With Inglis, Sam Burgess, Lima, Goodwin, Merritt and Walker making more that 100+m in the match. Defensively Lowe was our best in the tackling raking up 32 tackles. With Tyrrell, Asotasi, Lowe, Lima, Tom Burgess, Starling, Merritt, Goodwin and Reynolds not missing a tackle.
