Minor Premiership Last Round Playoff for JJ Giltinan Shield

After the results on the weekend this weekends game is the first ever 1st v 2nd playoff for the Minor Premiership match since 1968. The equation is now simple we win we are minor premiers. A loss and we are second.

Burgiiii day finally arrives

103 years and we saw 4 brother play on game day. But Sam almost blew a perfect day after being Sin Binned which allowed the Tigers to get to a 18 nil lead. But the day ended well with a classic Burgiiii final set as the 4 brother did the 5 hitups and finished the game with a 4 Burgiiii crunching tackle.

Reynolds 200 points

For the second year in succession Adam Reynolds has now scored 200 points in a season,which was only done by the great Eric Simms.

Bears destroy Manly

Bears destroyed arch rivals Manly in a game where they put on 60 points with Koroisau bagging 24 points in the game and notched up his 100th point as well.

U20s qualify for the Top 8

A gutsy win over 6th played West-Tigers has secured another Top 8 birth for our U20s. Well done.

Club Championship needs Reserve Grade

With such a strong showing in all 3 grades it so disappointing that the Club Championship doesn't include all 3 grade anymore. Souths would be clear winners in the old 3 x FG, 2 x RG and 1 x U20s format.

Round 25 - Stat Attack

Statistically it was another strong performance after a bad start. Completion rates dropped to 79% from 87% last week. With errors increasing to 9 from 7 and penalties conceeded improved to 3 from 6 last week. Souths Effective 1st tackle for the match dropped to a average level of 32.8m from 29.0m last week. And missed tackles dropped to a poor level of 26 missed tackles from 25 last week. With opposition offloads to improved to 5 after allowing 7 last week.

Looking at our left side defence - Merritt-Goodwin-Sutton-McQueen (0-2-4-3) dropped to 9 from 6 missed tackles last week. On the right side Farrell-Walker-Reynolds-Teo (2-1-4-0) improved to 7 from 11 missed tackles last week.

Our go forward improved to 1499m this week. With Sam Burgess, Luke and Inglis making 10+m per run. With Sam Burgess, George Burgess, Sutton, Luke, Inglis, Walker and Goodwin making more that 100+m in the match. Defensively Luke was our best in the tackling raking up 36 tackles. With Te'o, Lima, George Burgess, Tom Burgess, Merritt and Keary not missing a tackle.
