2013 - The Cyber View from the Hill

11th September 2013

Crowd record and Equal First

It was like a grand final and the crowd turned up in force setting a regular season crowd record. But we missed a classic opportunity when Dylan Walker failed to ground the ball. You can't fail to convert changes in the big games as we found out that a 6 point lead quickly translated into a 12 point defecit. But we still ended up equal first our best result since 1989 and with the Ron Coote Cup. Now for the finals after our 2nd Top 4 finish in 2 years and weface our hoodoo team Melbourne but up here in Sydney.

Sam Burgess powerful performance

In a game where we needed our stars to stand up, Sam Burgess was a standout leading the forwards against the monster Roosters pack.

Another Bears win and 3rd

Bears have been dominating of late with another big win on the weekend. They ended up 3rd in a very successful year. Now for the finals.

U20s finish 7th

A narrow loss but our U20s team still made the Top 8 finishing 7th on the ladder. Another succesful year with all 5 grades making teh finals.

Fans will turn out for events

The game was a event the first Minor Premiership show down in round 26 for 45 years and the fans came out in droves. Rugby League needs to keep its big event games on big event dates. This means more RL games on Monday long weekends at 4pm rather than Monday Night football.
