Chris Grevsmuhl signs for 2014-5

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to confirm the signing of young forward Chris Grevsmuhl for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Grevsmuhl, 20, has been a member of the North Queensland Cowboys’ under 20s squad since making his debut as a schoolboy, playing in 53 under 20s matches and scoring 31 tries. Grevsmuhl, who stands 185cm tall and weighs 106kg, also represented Queensland in the Under 20s State of Origin matches in 2012 and 2013, represented the Junior Kangaroos in 2012, the Australian Schoolboys in 2010, as well as the Queensland under 18s and under 16s sides. Grevsmuhl was also selected in the 2012 Under 20s Team of the Year alongside current Rabbitohs young gun Luke Keary. Grevsmuhl is comfortable playing front row, second row or lock, and will add size and aggression to the Rabbitohs’ forwards stocks. Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire is keen to work closely with Chris over the next two seasons. “Chris has been a player we’ve kept our eye on for some time now and we’re really pleased to have him join the Club next season,” Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire said. “He’s been performing well at the under 20s level over a number of seasons and also has experience playing at Queensland Cup level, so we’re looking forward to him joining us in the pre-season and helping him achieve his goals of playing in the NRL.
