The Cyber View from the Hill

What a horrid start !

What a difference a week makes. We put ourselves under too much pressure with dropped ball early in the tackle counts and Melbourne played their best game of the season to capitalise on them, once again.

Alex Johnston keeps scoring

Alex Johns ton continues to make a impressive debut with another two tries taking to equal FG top try scorer. He already is the club leading try scorer with 9 across the 3 grades.

Congratulations Inglis, McQueen and Te'o

Another congratulations to our SOO trio of SOO record try scorer Greg Inglis and Chris McQueen and Ben Te'o who were once again selected for Queensland in SOO I.

Congratulations Guler and Murray

Congratulations to Emre Guler and Cameron Murray who were selected for NSW in the U16 SOO match.

U18's and U16 should expand

After a great U18 and U16 season we should expand the junior competitions in NSW to include Australian NSW Cup teams, and regional NSW divisional teams. While we have a good NRL representation regional young players are missing out on this great opportunity.

Round 10 - Stat Attack

Statistically it was poor game once again where the opposition made us pay for our errors Completion rates were better at 75% but we made a very poor 13 errors and conceeded 6 penalties. Souths Effective 1st tackle for the match was horrible at 49.3m and was the woorst for the season thus far. But missed tackles dropped to 20 missed tackles this week. And we allowed a horrible 20 opposition offloads.

Looking at our left side defence - Goodwin-Auva'a-Sutton-Turner/McQueen (1-3-4-1) was poor with 9 missed tackles. On the right side Johnston-Walker-Reynolds-Teo (0-1-0-2) was good with only 3 missed tackles this week.

Our go forward dropped to 1238m. George Burgess, Sutton, Auva'a and GI lead the way in the go forward all making 10+m per run. With George, Sam Burgess, Sutton, Inglis amd Goodwin making more that 100+m in the match. Defensively Sam Burgess was our best in the tackling raking up 38 tackles. With Johnston, Tyrrell, Turner, McInnes and Luke Burgess not missing a tackle.
