The Cyber View from the Hill

5 day turn around

After a great win the week before the five day turn around against the Broncos who are playing very game on Friday night this year, proved to be too much as the team tired towards the end of this physically demanding game. Missed tackles hurt us in the end.

Asotasi 100 FG Games for Souths

Congratulations to Roy who has now played played 100 games for the might Rabbitohs.

French / Korosiau show

What a great win by the U20's putting 504 on the Broncos with 2 triple try freats by French and Korosiau. It was a great day out at Redfern, lunch at teh Leagues Club foollowed by two great games by the U18 and U20 boys.

Playing Schedule

The ARLC needs to seriosly change the playing schedule for weekend matches and make it a fixed schedule going forward. In 2012 we are seeing the Broncos getting the luxury of 10 out 12 Friday games with the other two being a bye and a Saturday game. Other clubs are being incovineced by the schedule as Souths found out when the Perth game which should hav ebeen on Saturday night was shifted to Friday by TV broadcasters due to poor early season performances of the Cowboys and Gold Coast. And Monday Night Football impacts families and school too muc, and des not allow payed up members who have to travel a hour to attend matches. I beleive we should go back to only one Friday night game. and teh weekend match schedule should look as follows

Fri 8:00pm
Sat 5:30pm
Sat 7:30pm
Sat 7:30pm
Sun 2:00pm
Sun 2:00pm
Sun 4:00pm
Sun 4:00pm

Rd 4 Stat Attack

A strong game but missed tackles and errors cost us the game. We still made 11 handling errors and teh the one just before and after half time set the tempo for the game. The team was much better in making the hard yards this week with 1344m but missed tackles increased to a unacceptable 35 in our 5 day turn around. Effective 1st tackles increased slightly this week to 35.1m

DAve Taylor lead the way on the weekend with 8 missed tackles. And you need to wonder if he was watching the events up the Gold Coast more than the game, while a error by Burgess just before half time lead directly to a try. Looking at our left side defence - Farrell-Corrigan-Sutton-Pettybourne (1-4-2-0) 7 missed tackles between them. On the right side Everingham-King-Reynolds-Taylor (1-3-4-8) went up as well to 16 missed tackles between them. With Taylor playing left side in the last 20 min where the two final tries were scored.

On the positive side we had strong running games from our forwards this week. With Burgess, Luke, Asotasi making more than 100m and averaging 9+m per run each. Defensively Luke and Burgess our leading tacklers with Pettybourne, Crocker, Clark and Peats not missing a tackle.

Signing off for another week - the midweek Cyber View from the Hill
