Semi Finals Here we come !

After 5 years out of the Semifinals, Souths qualified for teh semifinals in First Grade for the first time in 5 years after a hard fought win against Titans which made it 6 wins in a row. Well done boys !

Defence

Souths today showed how much their defence has imroved from last year. Holding out the Titans on many occurances in a must win game against thsi 8th placed team.

Keay blitz !

Kear had a blinder in the big win over the Titans U20's team scoring 3 tries and setting a few others.

Game Scheduling

The NRL really needs to address the scheduling of games. Friday night match in gosford is very poor PR work and is a major issue for fans as the F3 is bumper to bumper and at its worst on Friday evening.

Rd 22 Stat Attack

Souths were without Inglis and Luke again tonight. While Souths defence was great until the last 10 min, the Gold Coast made a volume of errors to let the pressure off Souths. Our missed tackles and errors were down and at competition front runner levels. Effective 1st tackles was steady at 31.1m this week.

Looking at our left side defence - Hunt-King-Sutton-McQueen (1-0-3-0) improved to 4 from 5 missed tackles last week. On the right side Everingham-Farrell-Reynolds-Taylor (0-0-2-5) was improved to 7 from 11 last week.

On the positive side our backline had massive games. But our forwards were not as dominant with Sam Burgess, Taylor and Lowe cracking the 100+m. Defensively Peats was our best in the tackling again raking up 49 tackles. With McQueen, Clark, Tyrrell, King, Farrell and Everingham not missing a tackle.
