Johnston Stood Down on Drugs Allegation

The North Sydney District Rugby League Football Club has confirmed that the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency has initiated an investigation into Curtis Johnston’s alleged anti-doping violation. At this stage Curtis has been stood down from the North Sydney Bears pending the outcome of the investigation. He is at the centre of an investigation following a series of damning text messages from Johnston boasting about his use of banned substances. Johnston has claimed the text messages were a joke. Bears boss Greg Florimo claimed the outside back had never returned a positive drugs test. "He's been here for the last five years, he's tested at least five or six times with ASADA and has come back negative every time," Florimo said.

On April 10 after two months of investigation and being out of game, Curtis Johnston has been cleared of any wrong doings by ASADA, and is free to once again strap on the boots for the Red and Blacks.
