South Sydney took on the new Cumberland club and it was another strong win for the team, minus its key reprentative players

Hanna nabs a try

Hanna the son of the premiership winning player from the old Randwick team that dominated the late 1890's made his debut, and scored a try to boot, as he filled in for Hennessy at hooker.

Hennessy - First Australian Test Captain

In another first Arthur Hennessy became South Sydney's first ever Test Captain. But it didn't last long after he was taken out early in the game.

Battle with Union is hotting up

The battle for the hearts of Sydney is hotting up between Rugby League and Rugby Union. Now that the representative season is getting into full swing we are seeing the codes going head to head. Both codes are having New Zealand tour arranged and both are heading over to England together. But it was early signs are good after 20,000 attended the Agricultural Ground on the weekend.
