Maori Tour of Australia Announced

Hot on the heels of the New Zealand professional tour announcement has come the announcement of the New Zealand Maori tour of Australia.

Albert Asher, an All Black who was injured and could not tour with the 1907-08 New Zealand professional side, began organising with the NSWRL to host a tour of a New Zealand Maori side. Many Maori were reportedly unhappy by their treatment from the Wellington-based NZ Rugby Union.

Matches have been scheduled against New Souths Wales on 8th and 13th of June, Sydney Metropolis on 17th June and 22nd July, Newcastle on 20th June and 11th July, Queensland on 27th June, 1st and 4th of July.

The tour concludes with two matches against Australia 18th July and the 1st August.
