Sydney Sports Ground

Selected Trial Teams

WIN 13-12

Judging by yesterday's trial matches the League Rugby season will be a most successful one both from a playing and financial point of view. At the Sports Ground, used for the first time by the League, over two thousand people attended. Compared with the opening date of last year, the takings showed an improvement of five to one. Yesterdays matches proved that the players from Rugby Union as both numerous and psoitive. Brown Gilbert Collier, Hilliard and Nicholls played well with South Sydney. South Sydney, as well as putting up a brilliant game with Eastern Suburbs, conducted a possible verses probables game on the Agricultural Ground. Two New Zealanders Wilson, of Ponwbley, forward, and Brett an Auckland representative three-quarter showed out promisingly. A very interesting game.
