1933 NSWRL Second Knockout Carnival - Teams

South Sydney v Balmain

The NSWRL has arranged a knockout carnival again on the August Bank Holiday Monday.

Teams must be chosen from 17 players nominated prior to team going on the field of play for the first match. Injured players cannot be replaced during the progress of any one match. Winning club shall receive £20 and runners-up £10. All other clubs shall receive £1/10- to cover trainers expenses. Each match shall be played in two equal division of time. Each division to be 10 minutes, no interval. Each club shall have a time-keeper in attendance. Each club will have a scorer in attendance. After each score the game shall be re-started by a Drop-Out from within the centre of the half-way line, except after a goal when the game shall be re-started by a place-kick from the centre of the field of play.

Extra Scoring Points

  • Force counts 1 point against team forcing
  • Defending side kicking the ball dead or into touch in-goal counts 1 point against them
  • Team kicking ball directly into touch counts 1 point against them
  • Any member of a team deliberately running into touch or touch-in-goal counts 1 point against them
  • Marks shall not be permissible

    All clubs are expected to be represented by their best available First Grade players. Each team must be comprised of at least 9 First Grade players if available. Players taking the place of players away on tour shall be deemed to be First Grade players. Any player, available for selection, who does not take part in the competition debars himself from participation in the privaleges under the Rentention Fund the following year.

    In the event of any match other than the final, ending in a draw, a extra 5 minutes each way shall be played. If there is then no finality the captains shall toss to see who wins.

    In the event of the final ending in a draw an extra 10 minutes shall be played each way. If still a draw the teams will be declared dual winners. The allowance for the winning club and the runner-upclub shall be equally divided.

    Any player ordered off the field for misconduct or any player leaving the field through injuries cannot be replaced by another player in that same game.
