The South Sydney v Parramatta game was rescheduled to Sunday at the SCG due to safety concerns in the Wallabies v Springboks RU match where a large protest is anticipated after 50 people were arrested during the midweek RU match. The RU Saturday game was switched from the SSG to SCG at the advice of NSW Police. 140 people were arrested in the protests.
This was the first premiership double header. Phil Smith has torn his hamstring.
