Lowe Brothers United, Greenfield Returns

22nd June 2007

The Club announced the contract extension of prop Jaiman Lowe. Lowe has agreed to terms to a two-year extension of his current contract, meaning Lowe will remain a Rabbitoh until the end of the 2009 season. "I'm really happy where I am and I'm happy with the footy I'm playing," Lowe said. "I wanted to stay with the Rabbitohs and I've been playing the footy that warranted me staying so I'm glad that I've got my career sorted out for the next two years."

The Rabbitohs have signed Ben Lowe, younger brother of Jaiman, from the North Queensland Cowboys for 2007 and 2008. Ben, 22, will join the Club immediately, playing for the Rabbitohs feeder Club the North Sydney Bears this weekend. Ben was selected for the Queensland Country team in 2006 and 2007 and played for the Queensland Residents in 2006. Ben's junior representative honours include selection in the Queensland and Australian under 15s sides in 2000, Queensland under 16s, under 17s and under 19s in 2001, 2002 and 2004 respectively.

Prop forward Michael Greenfield has also rejoined the Rabbitohs for the remainder of the season after spending the first half of the season at the Cronulla Sharks. Greenfield played six first grade games for the Rabbitohs in 2006.

"We're really happy with the signing of Jaiman, Ben and Michael as we continue to strengthen our squad," Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said.
