Bears sensational start to season has taken a turn south after the Bears third loss in a row. Injuries to players in the squad is hurting the Bears. In a rescheduled game from Saturday to Friday afternoon Manly got the ball rolling with a early try. Jeremy Smith puts a kick pinpoint into the corner and Nathanael Barnes leaps over the Manly defence to catch the ball and score. 4 all. But right before halftime Smith has a kick charged down and Jeff Robson from Manly runs 70m to score. Halftime 4-8. Soon after resuming Ryan Verlinden makes a strong run close to the tryline and Mitch Williams dives over to score from dummy half. Greg Nichols converts. Bears hit the lead 10-8. Then Manly run in three tries to take the score to 10-24 Before John Tamanika gets the ball in a bit of space and runs to the corner to score. Full-time 14-24. But it was a game of missed opportunities as the Bears bombed a few tryscoring opportunities.
