In a disappointing match, the Bears had the better of the first half. Ndaira scored teh first try from dummy half and converted. 6-0. Next Nichols scores and again Ndaira converts as the Bears get out to a 12 point lead. Cronulla then hit back and its 12-6 As we head into halftime Eddie Paea scores and converts his own try and the Bears go into the break leading 18-6. But in the second half the wheel fell off as Cronulla ran in 5 tries to take the score out to 18-34 Smith then gives a cut-out pass to Tamanika who barges over. But the game ended with a loss 22-34. But despite the loss the Bears have still run out Minor Premiers in the NSW Cup.

A big 1,500 crowd were on hand to watch Minor Premiers the North Sydney Bears take on the 8th place Balmain-Ryde Eastwood. And after 10 minutes the Bears were looking good after two early tries. The first try to Verlinden after 5 minutes. And a few minutes later Yileen Gordon barges over and the Bears lead 10-0. But then Balmain-Ryde put on 4 tries in 20 minutes and went into the break leading 10-24. After the break, the Bears passed along the backline and Baird scors in the corner.14-24. Balmain-Ryde then hit back with a try from dummy-half. 14-30. With 12 minutes to the Gordon scored his second try after the Bears went the attack from a penalty. 18-30. But with 9 minutes to go Balmain-Ryde plotted a fieldgoal to wrap up the game 18-31.

The Bears bowed out in their centenary season in disappointing fashion. After 17 minutes Wests had taken the lead 0-10 after two early tries. Then in the 22nd minute, quick hands along the backline resulted in a try in the corner to Corrigan. But Wests hit back with two more tries to go into the break 4-20. But unlike the last classic encountered between these two clubs, things didn't improve for the Bears. Wests ran in another two tries and the scoreline blew out to 4-32 and the season was all but over. A try finally the Bears after a good backline move, Gordon kicking through, is picked up by Nichols who scores. But Wests hit back and wrap up the match 8-36. After high hopes early in the season and ending with the Minor Premiership the Bears bowed out in straight sets.
