2009 - The Cyber View from the Hill

13th May 2009

Back to the SCG

I am really looking forward to going back to the SCG for a game of RL once again for this weekends Heritage Round. Welcome Michael Crocker to the Red & Green, he will help stiffin up our pack.

Sutton City Injury

The curse of the City v Country matches hit Souths once gain with John Sutton breaking a bone in his hand. But where there was anguise there was opportunity, with Craig Wing slotting into 5/8 and showing the selectors what he is capable of with a great try. Luke Stuart was also very solid on debut.

Wing 5/8 opportunity

While there wasa disappointment in the loss of John Sutton, it gives Craig Wing an opportunity to play in the halves again this time playing alongside Sandow at 5/8.

ANZAC Test should be moved

We really need to stop playing this dead rubber test match at this time of the year. The match should be played after the SOO series say in July or at the season end as part of the 4 nations.

City v Country should expand

City v Country continues to be a great match. But we need to play this match away from the ANZAC test. Also we should include a Brisbane v Qld Country fixture on the same weekend, with a original City v Country match played between Bundy Cup City representatives and a NSW Country team. Plus a U20 City v Country fixture.

Signing off for another week - the midweek Cyber View from the Hill
