2009 - The Cyber View from the Hill

22nd July 2009

Record win

What a great win over the Broncos in front of plus 50,000 crowd, and our first win at Lang Park since 1989. This was a record winning margin ever against the Broncos plus a record crowd for matches against the Broncos, our 4th such crowd record for the year.

Top 8 still in the hunt

While it was a great win it was just another small step to keep in the running for the top 8, we are now 5 wins from the remaining 7 games.

Capewell back to NYC

Luke Capewell made a surprise return to NYC this week, with the Bears having the week off and scored a try to boot.

Dual Registration Changes

The NSWRL and QRL made changes this week to stop players dual registering across state boundries. If a player is contracted to a NSW NRL based club they can only be registered for a club in the NSW Cup and cannot be dual registered with the Qld Cup.The current arrangement with that Canberra and Manly have with Souths-Logan and Sunshine Coast will remain for saeson 2010, but no other club can startup a new arrangement.
