Vigin-Blue 2010 Training Sponsorship Extension

19th November 2009

The South Sydney Football Club has today announced the re-signing of Virgin Blue as a major Training corporate partner for season 2010. The one-year extension of Virgin Blue’s agreement with the Rabbitohs completes the suite of major corporate partnerships for the Rabbitohs for the 2010 season, with NAB (home), De’Longhi (away) and V8 Supercars (sleeve) joining Virgin Blue as major sponsors of the Club. 2010 will be Virgin Blue’s fourth consecutive year as Training partner with the Rabbitohs, starting their partnership with the Club in 2007. Virgin Blue will appear on the Club’s training gear as well as the front and back of the playing shorts. “The commitment shown by Virgin Blue to South Sydney over the past three seasons has been absolutely tremendous and we’re delighted to welcome them back on board for their fourth season today,” Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said. “Despite the difficult economic times all Australian businesses are facing at the moment, major international brands and leading companies such as Virgin Blue, NAB, De’Longhi and V8 Supercars are seeing the value in partnering with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. “These companies tell us that it is the connection to the Club’s ethos and its commitment to the community that is of equal or more value to them as seeing their logo on the Rabbitohs playing strip. “They understand that partnering with South Sydney is about a lot more than football results. It’s about belonging to the South Sydney family. “Our corporate partners show as much commitment to our Club as our Members do, and the Rabbitohs are one of the leading Clubs in the NRL in both areas. “We thank Virgin Blue for committing to the Rabbitohs again and we’re delighted to be partnering with the crew at Virgin Blue in 2010.” Virgin Blue Chief Executive and co-Founder, Brett Godfrey, said: “Our team at Virgin Blue has been really impressed with the collaboration and the spirit that surrounds South Sydney and we are keen to continue our support for the club, and to help the Rabbitohs and their management and supporters to continue to achieve their aims. “It’s true that airlines everywhere are experiencing the toughest era ever in global aviation due to the GFC but it’s times like these that staying the distance with existing partnerships and the mutual benefits they bring becomes even more important.”
