2010 Reserve Grade Affiliate - North Sydney Bears NSW Cup Squad

17th December 2009

There will be a few changes to the Bears team in 2010. Reece Robinson, Samu Wara, Sean Dalton, Chris Trembath, Bladen Baird, Brett Blaker and Justin Hunt have all moved on. The Bears have recruited many capable replacements none more so than Eddie Paea who returns to the Bears after his tremendous year in 2007, assisting in getting us to the Grand Final. Other quality recruits are Zeb Tawha and Andre Itula (CC Storm), James Nightingale from Redcliffe Dolphins and Brock Molan has stepped up from Souths NYC. Add these players to the likes of Jarryd Hogan, Matt Hunt, Deon Apps and you have a fairly handy team. Keep an eye out for Joel Jasmin, John Kaifoto and Curtis Johnston who are all primed for a huge season. The draw has been released and the Bears are due to play 25 NSW Cup games over the 26 rounds, which is a step up from last years draw and we will have to be smart in our approach to preparation and recovery to ensure we are at our best every week. The Bears and Souths are pleased to announce that we have negotiated a further 2 years of our arrangement with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, to be their Reserve Grade affiliated club. This will again give the Bears the much needed NRL bred player in their ranks which is so necessary if you are to succeed at NSW Cup level. Souths roster is laden with big men and no doubt we will see a few of them back at the Bears over the course of the season. Eddie Paea has picked up the role of club captain. The 2010 Bears NSW Cup squad is:
