The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce their squads for round ten of the 2017 NRL Premiership, the NRL’s Indigenous Round, against the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium this Friday 12 May with the NRL fixture scheduled to kick off at 7:50pm. All of the Rabbitohs’ players who took part in representative fixtures last weekend have returned to the 21-man squad for this week. This is an away game at ANZ Stadium for the Rabbitohs. Rabbitohs Ticketed Members are reminded that they have reciprocal rights to this match and their Ticketed Membership grants them entry to ANZ Stadium on Friday night. Inglis, Jennings, Tyrrell, Tracey, Goolagong, Topai-Aveai, Tarquinn Butler, Ili, Pheonix Hunt, Henry Fuimaono, Morgan, Josh Cook are unavialble due to injury. George Burgess is out suspended.
The Rabbitohs will be wearing a special Indigenous jersey for this match, designed by Aboriginal artist Joe Walker, the uncle of Rabbitohs five-eighth Cody Walker. The Rabbitohs’ Indigenous players are represented by their totems on this jersey. The totems are all connected together by a red and green link, symbolising unity amongst the players, and the totems are also linked back to the rabbit, symbolising the players’ strong links with the Club. The players were involved in selecting the final artwork. They decided on the above story to be told through the totems and the rabbit.
