2021 - The Cyber View from the Hill

Rabbitohs Run Riot and secure Finals spot

What a game of football. Souths ran riot against a Warriors team suffering from homesickness. It was a strong effort where our forwards laid the platform a powerful effort across the park and looked unstoppable. It was a great 11 try effort as our right side found its mojo. We have cemeted out final spot and are outright 3rd and well on track to secure our Top 4 spot. Now for a regional game in Rockhampton.

Su'A strong game

Have a rest over Origin has proved a god send for Jaydn Su'A. He has come out to prove he should be in the starting 13 scoring 2 tries and have a huge game out on the right. Looking good as we head into the finals.

Mago power game

Over the last month has seen Mago really improve as a bench player, causing a lot of damage when he has come on. He has moved from a unfit 10 minute player into a strong 30 minute bench player who is making a impact off the bench. Just what we need as we move into business end of the season against the bigger Top 2 forward pack.

RLWC In Tatters

This week has seen the RLWC organisers go into damage control as Australia and New ZEaland have pulled of the RLW2021 tournqment due to Covid. In the UK there are still 30,000 covid cases with matches getting regularly cancelly in the English Super League. While international sport is making a steady comeback, this has shot the biggest event on the RL calender in the foot. With a significant amount of money being pumped in by the British Government have two of the big 3 nations not attending has put the competition in serious jeopardy. But it also could be a huge turning point for the game if the IRL continue to press ahead. As two nations not being available could in fact make the event spectaular. I would invite the next two best nations ge USA and maybe Serbia and then allow NRL stars to chose their heritage nation if they still want to compete.

Round 19 - Stat Attack

Statistically it was a good game. Completion improved to 81% from 78% last week. Errors improved to 8 from 10 last week. We gave away 2 penalties and 3 6-again calls from 4 last week. Souths Effective 1st tackle improved to a good level of 22.5m from 24.4m last week. Our missed tackles dropped to a average level of 25 from 10 last week. Opposition offloads dropped to 9 from 7 last week.

Looking at our left side defence - Mansour-Gagai-Walker-Koloamatangi/Host (1-4-4-2) dropped to 11 from 3 missed tackles last week. On the right side Paulo-Milne-Reynolds/Burns-SuA (2-3-4-0) dropped to 11 from 3 missed tackles last week. Ruck defence Nicholls/Koloamatangi-DCook-Burgess/Arrow-Murray/Mago (1-0-3-2) dropped to 6 from 3 missed tackles last week.

Our go forward improved to 2355m from 1820m last week. Su'A, Nicholls, Burgess, Host, Mago, Arrow, Mitchell, Mansour, Gagai and Paulo made 10+m per run. Koloamatangi, Su'A, Murray, Arrow, Mago, Burgess, Cook, Nicholls, Mitchell, Mansour, Gagai and Reynolds made 100+m in the match. With Koloamatangi and Su'A making 200+m for the game. Defensively Damien Cook was our best in the tackling raking up 34 tackles. Nicholls, Cook, Koloamatangi, Su'A, Mago and Mitchell didn't miss a tackle.
