2022 - The Cyber View from the Hill

3rd August 2022

Another Golden Point Loss

We did everything to win this game against Top 4 team Cronulla but actually win the win the game. It was a typical winters night at the much reduced capacity Endeavour Field. Our forwards kept us in the game and did everything they could. But we lacked the finishing needed for the third time this season with our 3rd one point loss. Still 3 more wins to make the finals. Off to Sunshine Coast for last easy game before the finals.

Tatola almost saves the day

With a few minutes to go Kolomatangi did a great 1 on 1 steal to allow Tatola to power over under the posts. This should have been enough to win the game as he put in another super performance to inspire the team.

Thompson double rewarded

Izaac Thompson just keeps finding the try line. He bagged another two tries on the weekend taking his season tally to 20 in reserve grade and leads the try scoring list in NSW Cup. It hasnt gone unoticed as he has been called into the NRL squad.

Leugaimafa double

Deijion Leugaimafa made a welcome return to U21s after a brief cameo last year. He made the most of it by scoring 2 tries. Looking forward to seeing more of him as he graduates from U19s squad.

August 1 deadline got to go

This weekend saw another week of cattle trading between clubs as they tried to register players before the August 1 deadline just 5 rounds before the end of season. Rather than being used to prop us your lower grades when you had to backfill injuries. It is now being used to "loan" better players from teams outside of the finals race. We need to stop this and revert is back to a Jun 30 deadline. The integrity of the competition is a stake.
