2023 - The Cyber View from the Hill

24th May 2023

Poor Finish

It was a tough day out at Allianz, as we missed the opportunity to go into outright lead, We fadded, as we did not control the offload this week, as we let in 24 points, in back end of the game. We did well to lead at the 50 minute mark, but the pressure of having a forward pack on the sidelines, and our tough early season schedule finally took its toll tonight against last years runners up. Still 6 more wins to qualify for the finals, as we come up to the halfway mark of the season. We now back to home for a match against Canberra who have just snuck back into the Top 8 and also looking to bounce back after a heavy loss.

Johnston double

AJ continues to add tries to his tally with another double on the weekend, as the left side attack improves. He now has 173 tries, all for the Rabbitohs.

Duncan call up

Tallis Duncan was rewarded for a strong start to the season with a call up onto the bench for this weekends match. He is a ball playing lock who has a high work rate in defense. He will be a worth fill in for Murray who is on origin duties.

Jye Gray Hattrick

He is tiny in a Alan Langer mould, but Jye Gray's ability to play a cheaky 5/8 role, with a step and speed to burn was rewarded on the weekend when he scored a hattrick of tries. He stepped up from SG Ball a few weeks ago and looks right at home, as helped guild the U21s team to victory.

Rabbitohs new website

This week the Rabbitohs launched their new website, which is a evolution from the Teltra NRL run website. While the early cutover is a like for like setup, with early teathing issues, it will allow the club to provide a new improved member and fan experiance. Looking forward to see it evolve over the coming years.

Round 12 - Stat Attack

Statistically it was a very poor game. Completions dropped to 70% from 85% last week. Errors dropped to 11 from 9 last week. We gave away 6 penalties and 1 6-again calls from 3 last week. Looking at our left side defence - Johnston-Tass-Walker-Arrow/Host/Murray (0-1-4-1) dropped to 6 from 2 missed tackles last week. On the right side Milne-Graham-Ilias-CheeKam (1-3-4-2) dropped to 10 from 6 missed tackles last week. Ruck defence Tatola/HSele-DCook-Arrow/Knight/SulukaFifita-Murray/Knight (4-1-1-3) dropped to 9 from 6 missed tackles last week.
