Griffiths was a member of the 1945 Reserve Grade premiership winning squad.
Griffiths was graded in 1943 and made his senior grade club and premiership debut in the 1943 Round 8 Third Grade clash against Balmain at Leichhardt Oval. He made his first grade club debut in the 1943 end of season Tour clash against Tamworth in Tamworth. In 1944 he stepped into reserve grade in the 1944 Round 3 Reserve Grade premiership clash against Newtown at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He made his first grade premiership debut at the end of the season in the 1944 Round 14 clash against Canterbury-Bankstown at Belmore Oval.
