A product of St Stanislaus College, Bathurst. Lennox was a fiery red head. who played his early football in Mudgee, and representing Group 14 and Western Division, before making his way to South Sydney via St George.

Military Service (1941-43) Army - 2/15th Field Artillery - Gunner
Lennox enlisted in 1941 joining the Army 2/15th field atillery regiment and was sent to Malaya in 1941. He was captured by the Japanese, with the rest of the 8th Division during the fall of Singapore. As a POW he was sent to the Burma to work on the infamous Burma Thailand railway. He died in the Thanbuyazat POW hospital in 1943. George Treweek after WWII donated a trophy in his honour known as the Jack Lennox Memorial Cup.
