Musgrove Contract Extension 2018-20

3rd November 2016

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have extended the contract of young front rower Zane Musgrove for a further three years, keeping him at the Club until at least the end of the 2020 season. Musgrove, 20, made his first grade debut in round one of the 2016 season against the Roosters and missed a large portion of the season through injury. He returned for the back end of the season, registering six first grade games in his first year of NRL football. Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire is pleased to see Musgrove extend his tenure with the Club. “Zane worked hard to make his debut last season and he knows what it will take to cement a place in our top 17 moving forward,” Coach Maguire said. “He has shown that he is prepared to put in the work to achieve his and the team’s goals and that work ethic is why we see a future for him here at the Rabbitohs. “He is still young for a front rower but he is showing the signs of what it takes to make it in the NRL and I know that myself and my coaching staff are looking forward to working with him to create more competition for spots in our front row. “Zane is one of a number of young, up-and-coming players we have developing in our system and I’m really looking forward to helping him reach his potential.” Musgrove is delighted to be extending his career with South Sydney. “I’m really happy to have re-signed with Souths and to get to play here with my team mates is a dream come true,” Musgrove said. “We’re all prepared to do the work we need to do to be successful and I’m looking forward to the season ahead and building on what was achieved in 2016. “Souths is a great Club and I couldn’t be happier to be staying here for the next four years.”
