Renee Gartner Rabbitohs onfield Announcer

2nd March 2017

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to introduce our new on-field MC for our 2017 home games - Renee Gartner! Renee joins us from stints announcing for the Gold Coast Titans, State of Origin and the NRL Finals series and comes with previous experience working for the NRL Footy Show, Fox Sports, New South Wales Rugby League and NRL.com. Born into a Rugby League family, her grandfather and his brothers played for the Bulldogs while her father played for Manly, Easts and Balmain, Renee has NRL in her blood and is excited by the opportunity to work for the Rabbitohs. "It’s a privilege to be involved with a club that has such a strong history in the game, and arguably some of the most passionate fans in the NRL," said Gartner. "I'm looking forward to being able to soak up some of the atmosphere that is created at the home games!" Joining ground announcer Glen Hawke for Rabbitohs home games, Renee has the knowledge and personality to light up ANZ Stadium. She's looking forward to enhancing the Rabbitohs game day experience for our Members. "I think it’s a fantastic way to be involved with the game and give the Members and fans a true ‘experience’ and insight to their Club and players," said Gartner. We hope you'll all give a warm, Rabbitohs welcome to Renee in our first home game at ANZ Stadium tomorrow! Due to the increased duties and commitments of being an NRL Media and Communications Manager, Jeremy Monahan will be stepping aside after a decade as the Rabbitohs' on-field MC. "It's been great fun helping get the crowd on their feet at our home games over the past ten years, but I will be concentrating on the important role I have with the Club as Media and Communications Manager on game days," Monahan said. "Thanks to all the Members and fans who have joined me in bringing the noise for our boys and I'm certain Renee will do a fantastic job and help take our game day presentation to a new level for our Members."
