Tatola and Ethan Lowe 2020-21 Contract Extension

26th June 2019

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have secured forwards Junior Tatola and Ethan Lowe until at least the 2021 NRL season, with the pair signing two-year extensions. Rabbitohs general manager of football Shane Richardson said the duo's commitment to South Sydney will help maintain the balance of hardened experience and rising youth in the squad. "With senior players like Ethan guiding the next wave of Rabbitohs like Junior through the ranks, the future is bright for the Rabbitohs," he said.

Tatola has become a mainstay in the Rabbitohs line-up since his NRL debut last year, earning two Tongan international caps through his impressive performances. The 22-year-old prop has started all but one match in 2019 under coach Wayne Bennett, averaging 103 run metres and 22 tackles per showing. I love this club," said Tatola. "This club gave me my opportunity in the NRL, an opportunity I'm really grateful for, and I want to repay the faith they have shown in me over the past couple of seasons. I love playing for the members as well. They are so passionate and very vocal at games. They are always behind us and I can't wait to play for them in the years to come."

Lowe, 28, joined South Sydney over the pre-season after securing a release from North Queensland and has featured in every game so far. The versatile back-rower's strong form has seen him lock down his long-term future with the club. "I'm very happy to be re-signing with Souths," Lowe said. "Everyone made me feel like part of the family here when I first came down and I've really appreciated it, so I couldn't be happier to know I'll be here for at least the next couple of years. I've really been enjoying my footy here and enjoying being around this team so it was an easy decision to stay. I want to play good footy and do everything I can to help this side win games, and I want to help continue the culture of this great club."
