South Sydney has also agreed to a request for a contract release from Bryson Goodwin to enable him to join another NRL team effective immediately. Goodwin played 100 all-time first grade games made up of 99 premiership first grade games and the 2015 World Club Challenge match for South Sydney between 2013 and 2017, having returned to the Club this year on a one-season deal following a two-year stint with the Warrington Wolves. The Rabbitohs wish Bryson and his family all the best for the future.

In other news Edene Gebbie has also been released. Gebbie had returned back to his home in Papua New Guinea at the start of the Covid-19 outbreak. With no Canterbury Cup being played he requested a release so he could return to play in the local PNG domestic competition which has approval to restart.
