Shutout at Commbank

What a great win with a very good 80 minute performance. Our forwards set the platform with a quality go forward coupled with a high completion rate, we starved the opposition of possession. Then our backline lead by Mitchell did the rest. The most pleasing aspect was our defence as we shutout Parramatta. Still 1 more win to make the finals. Now for the Grand Final rematch at home.

Walker finds his mojo

It was Cody of old, as he chimmed in with Mitchell to score a double. He has a mixed season, but as we head back into the finals and with less pressure on him now that Mitchell is back in the team, it is opening up space for him.

Peoples rotten luck

It was bad luck for Trent Peoples after a good season when he went off late in the game with a broken leg. Wishing him a speedy recovery over the off season.

Rahme call up

After a string of good games in U21s since his debut, it was good to see Jaxson Rahme get a call up into reseve grade next week. He is a strong running lock and will benefit for his his next test.

NSW Cup Broadcast being forced off air

We are starting to see how the Womens NRL and the NSW Cup / QLD Cup will be treated by broadcasters this season. With the strategy for the NRL to run the NRLW as the NRL pre-game on game days, it is forcing broadcasters to choose what to broadcast. The NRLW started the season after NYC ended as the NRL finals pre-game matches. With expansion this season we now see that move into the last few rounds of the season proper. What this has done is force NSW Cup out of the pre-NRL TV timeslot and into a 11am TV time slot. With stadiums only allowing 2 games on game days, you are going to have a situation where all NSW Cup and U21 games will no longer be played on game day. In Queensland the Qld Cup has already been forced off free-to-air and can only be seen via streaming services. The good thing with this was all games were now broadcast. The same happened in the NSW Cup with the Ch9 coverage ending over the covid period with NSWRL Facebook TV taking over. Not sure what the long term impact will be on crowds, but I can see fans having to choose between going to see NSW Cup / U21s live & watching NRL / NRLW on TV or going to NRL / NRLW live from next season.
