1910 NSWRL Premiership - Trial

South Sydney v Newtown

Metter's Sports Ground

Sat Apr 9, 3:30pm

WIN 10-8

Selected Trial Teams

The match was played at te new ground within the Metter's Gas Stove factory grounds in Erskinsville. There was a good attendance at Metter's new ground at Newtown. South Sydney defeated Newtown by 10 points to 8, the game proving very interesting. The great attendance at the Leagues new ground (Metters), Ersenville at the practice matches last Saturday shows the ground, when completed, will be very popular. The work of enclosing the playing area is now well in hand, and it is hoped that it will be completed before next Saturday. Seating accomodation is being placed right around the ground, and when this is finished at least 10,000 will be comfortably provided for.
