Late changes - Ngaro and Johnston drop off the bench. The North Sydney Bears have slipped to sixth on the NSW Cup ladder with their 22-4 loss to front-runners Bankstown City Bulls. Bears coach Wayne Lambkin said the side played reasonably well but were hit hard by injury in Saturday's rugby league-rugby union double header at North Sydney Oval. "We lost Chris Trembath in the first half when he took a really bad knock and was unconscious, then lost Dave Tyrrell at halftime," he said. "To lose two key forwards in wet conditions like that made it difficult. "In saying that, we created plenty of opportunities and they scored tries from some lucky kicks." The Bulls led 10-0 at halftime and the Bears, with only 15 men, struggled at the back end of the game. "I think the task of playing short took its toll."
