Cook and Crichton New South Wales SOO II Selections

South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce dummy half Damien Cook and back rower Angus Crichton have been selected to play Game II of the 2018 State of Origin series. Taking place in Sydney on Sunday 24 June Cook and Crichton will hope they can help wrap up the series for the Blues after NSW won the first game in Melbourne at the MCG.

Inglis and Gagai Queensland State of Origin Selection

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce the Greg Inglis and Dane Gagai have been named in Queensland's squad for Game II of the State of Origin series. Coach Kevin Walters will consult with his players and medical staff before settling on the final line-up this week. Greg Inglis has once again been named captain.

Brittain, Britt and Hiroti NSW Residents Selection

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce that three North Sydney Bears players and Red and Green youngsters have been named in Intrust Super NSW Residents team to take on the Queensland Residents. Hooker Billy Brittain, lock forward Dean Britt and outside back Mawene Hiroti have been selected, while Bears Head Coach Shane Millard takes the reins. The match kicks off at 4.10pm AEST at ANZ Stadium on Sunday 24 June as a curtain raiser to State of Origin Game II

Sam, Tom and George Burgess - England Denver Test Selections

Congratulations to Sam, Thomas and George Burgess, who have been named in England's 19-man squad for the upcoming test match against New Zealand in the United States. The South Sydney Rabbitohs trio are among six NRL players selected - alongside James Graham, Elliott Whitehead and Gareth Widdop - to face the Kiwis at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado on Saturday 23 June. George earns himself a recall to the squad having missed out on selection for the 2017 World Cup, where England finished as runners-up to the Kangaroos. Head coach Wayne Bennett said: "We have always been clear that the door to the senior squad is open to any player showing the form to be selected. "The squad has a real mix of experience and youth and that will prove important during our time in Denver."

Jennings and Tatola - Tonga Pacific Test Selections

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are extremely pleased to announce that winger Robert Jennings and forward Junior Tatola have been named in Tonga's test squad for the mid-season Pacific test against Samoa. After stellar seasons so far in 2018 both Jennings and Tatola have been rewarded for playing their part in a very strong Rabbitohs season. The match will take place at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday 23 June and will kick off at 7.10pm

Studdon - Womens NSW State of Origin Captain Selections

South Sydney Rabbitohs halfback Maddie Studdon has been named NSW State of Origin captain for 2018 as five Rabbitohs were named to start for the Blues. Studdon becomes the second Rabbitohs player this year to be named captain of their state following Greg Inglis' Queensland captaincy. South Sydney Rabbitohs women's halfback and new NSW Women's State of Origin captain Maddie Studdon says it's a "dream come true" to be pulling on the armband for the Blues next Friday night. "It means a lot obviously, I've been around the rugby league world for a lot of years now I started playing when I was four years old so it's a dream come true," Studdon explained. Including Studdon there were five Rabbitohs selected to play for the Blues giving NSW quite the Red and Green flair, which Studdon says is a great boost for the side. "Definitely having these Souths girls out there will be a massive help I'm really proud of how we've been going this year and I can't wait to lead the girls out on North Sydney Oval and hopefully it's a good result," said Studdon. With a big couple of weeks ahead Studdon is focused on keeping the body in tip-top shape with the Harvey Norman Premiership finals right around the corner. But for now, the star halfback is just enjoying her special moment "It is an amazing feeling it's a massive honour for myself, it's big shoes to fill with after Ruan Sims after her injury but I can't wait to run out on Friday night."

Simon, Davis-Welsh, O'Meally and Riley - Womens NSW State of Origin Selections

Also selected were Four of South Sydney's best Taleena Simon, Nakia Davis-Welsh, Lavina O'Mealey and Rebecca Riley have all been named in the starting side. Along with Studdon, teammate Taleena Simon has been rewarded for her incredible try scoring ability in 2018 while Nakia Davis-Welsh once again features on the opposite wing. Rounding up the Rabbitohs involvement playmakers Lavina O'Mealey and Rebbeca Riley will bring their strong form into camp following an outstanding season for the Rabbitohs in the Harvey Norman Women's Premiership. The Women's State Origin kicks off Friday 22 June at North Sydney Oval.
