In a match where South Sydney led from start to finish, South Sydney have been crowned the first ever NSW Rugby League premiers. South Sydney thouroughly deserved the title of premiers 1908, and have played good clean football all the season.

Conlin splendid game

Victory on the weekend can be put down to a excellency of Arthur Conlin's play.

Good first season

Its been a tough first season for the League. Up against a program of England and New Zealand visitors, they were able to hold their own during the year. The Union has been drained financially, and cracks are starting appear with Manly wanting to defect to League. But the League is still vulnerable even though finances are good.
