A practice match between South Sydney and Glebe District Rugby League clubs took place on Saturday on the new Victoria Park Racecource in Zetland managed privately by Joynton Smith. Glebe had a number of its leading players in the team, and they singly romped over their opponents, whom they beat by 27 points to nil. South Sydney had only five first grade players. For the winners Buggivan got two tries, and Gleeson, Peat, F.Burge, McGregor, Regan, Kelly and A.Wright one each. Owing to rain the play was not continued.
