Played at the Sports Ground. From the commencement play was of a fast character, South Sydney trying to open, up the game. Working up towards South Sydney's line, however, Glebe's three-quarter line joined in a passing rush, and Wright scored. Thiering failed at goal. A few minutes fast play now ensued, and then South Sydney carried to Glebe's 25, where H.Butler picked up and passed to Spence, who scored A.Butler added the extras. Just before half-time McGuiness added two points with a penalty goal.

On resuming it was seen that several changes had been made in the personnel of both teams. Glebe were the first to score in this half, F.Burge crossing in, and Thiering added the extras. From a scramble the ball was whipped out to McCabe, and he scored. Darmody's attempt at goal fell, short. Glebe was quickly pressing as the result of a passing bout, but a penalty sent them back. Midfleld play followed for some time, then Glebe broke away with a passing rush, and Pert scored. Hickey added the extras. A few minutes later he added another two points with a penalty goaL The final scores were, Glebe 17, South Sydney 8.
