NAB 3 Year 2008-10 Home Sponsorship Deal

13th March 2008

One of Australia’s leading banks, NAB, was today announced as the Rabbitohs major home partner for the next three years, joining Virgin Blue as major partners of the South Sydney Rabbitohs in its Centenary Season. The partnership with NAB includes a significant involvement with the Rabbitohs community initiative Souths Cares. The NAB logo will appear on the home jersey, as well as the away jersey. Rabbitohs corporate hospitality, signage and events are also included in the agreement. South Sydney Rabbitohs Executive Chairman Peter Holmes à Court said the announcement was a huge plus for the Club, a day before the kick-off of the 2008 Centenary NRL season against the Sydney Roosters. “We are delighted to have NAB on board. It is another important step in the rebuilding of this Club and we are extremely grateful for their support in our 100th year,” Mr Holmes à Court said. “Thanks to NAB, we know we have a lot to do to deliver on their partnership and appreciate that in penning this deal they have shown significant support of the Rabbitohs and the sport of Rugby League “Like the Rabbitohs, NAB is one of Australia’s most recognisable brands and we see the three-year agreement as a wonderful fit. Alongside our recent 10-year stadium renewal, our return to Redfern later this year and our considerable gains in Membership, having NAB come on board as major home partner is another piece in the puzzle in what promises to be another year of growth for our Football Club. “NAB will be a key partner across all of Souths Cares’ programs and will help in the efforts to rebuild Redfern both physically and through community links, and that continues NAB’s strong support of community programs nationwide. NAB General Manager, Public Affairs, Tim O’Leary said NAB sees the partnership with the Rabbitohs as an exciting addition to their sponsorship portfolio. “NAB is delighted to partner with a club with such a proud heritage as the Rabbitohs. “At NAB, we believe in helping communities to achieve their dreams and aspirations. As a club with such a passionate and committed supporter base, playing group and administration, the Rabbitohs truly embody these values. “In 2008 NAB is commemorating 150 years of being in the community, as are the Rabbitohs with their 100 year milestone. We look forward to building an exciting future together with the Rabbitohs, particularly with important community initiatives such as South Cares,” said Mr O’Leary. The Rabbitohs will wear the new NAB-branded home strip in tomorrow night’s big clash with arch-rivals the Sydney Roosters. In what promises to be a fiery and exciting encounter, the new NAB jersey will seen by over 30,000 Members and fans at the game and a projected television audience of over 1 million viewers. Souths has been on the hunt for a new sponsor since cutting ties with controversial fuel technology company Firepower last season.
