Rabbitohs five-eighth Craig Wing has been named in the 46 man Australian provisional squad for the Rugby League World Cup to played at season's end.

New Zealand Preliminary Squad Selections

The New Zealand Rugby League has named seven Rabbitohs players in its 49-man preliminary squad for the Rugby League World Cup coming up at season's end. Current Rabbitohs and Kiwis captain Roy Asotasi will lead a group including David Fa'alogo, David Kidwell, Issac Luke, Manase Manuokafoa, Eddie Paea and Fetuli Talanoa.

The Tongan Rugby League has named five Rabbitohs have been selected in the preliminary Tonga RLWC squad. Sam Huihahau, Manese Manuokafoa, Eddie Paea, Fetuli Talaona and John Tamanika.

Wing Australian PMXIII Selection

Rabbitohs five-eighth Craig Wing will pull on a green and gold jersey for the first time since 2005 after earning selection in the Prime Minister's XIII to play Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby on Sunday 28 September. Wing will play from the interchange bench, joining a number of young up-and-coming representative stars and seasoned campaigners in the Prime Minister's XIII for 2008. Fellow Rabbitohs John Sutton and Nathan Merritt have played for the Prime Minister's XIII, with Sutton representing in 2005 and Merritt in 2006.

7 Rabbitohs selected in Indigenous Dreamtime Squad

7 Rabbitohs have been slected as part of the 70 man Indigenous Dreamtime Squad to take on the NZ Maori. The players selected are Nathan Merritt, Beau Champion, Jamie Simpson, Chris Sandow, Dean Widders, Yileen Gordon and Luke Grant.

Three current and future Rabbitohs have been selected in the Indigenous Dreamtime Team to take on the New Zealand Maori in this Sunday's Welcome to Country match at the opening ceremony of the Rugby League World Cup. Rhys Wesser has been selected at fullback with Dean Widders picked at lock for the match. Rabbitohs halfback Chris Sandow and Yileen Gordon have been selected on a five-man bench.

The Indigenous Dreamtime Team will wear the Rabbit emblem on their shorts during the game, signifying the Club's close ties with the Indigenous community over the past 100 years.

Rabbitohs player Nathan Merritt joined Souths Cares Indigenous Programs Co-ordinator David Peachey and the Indigenous Dreamtime Team at the Redfern Community Centre today, spending some time with the kids who live in and around The Block. Souths halfback Chris Sandow said: "I'm really looking forward to playing in this game and I think we can put on a really good show for everyone. I'm glad we?ll be wearing the rabbit out there too. It should be a good game and hopefully lots of Rabbitohs Members can come out and support us. It should be good." The Welcome to Country match will be played at the Sydney Football Stadium this Sunday 26 October at 4:15pm, as a curtain-raiser to the Australia vs New Zealand World Cup match. Walsh Australian Schoolboy selections

South Sydney junior Domonic Walsh has been selected on the bench for the Australian Schoolboys squad.

Seven South Sydney Rabbitohs players have been selected in World Cup squads. Rabbitohs players David Fa'alogo, Issac Luke and David Kidwell have been selected in the 24-man New Zealand World Cup Squad announced today.

Fetuli Talanoa, Eddie Paea and Manase Manuokafoa will line up for Tonga.

Whilst Nigel Vagana will captain Samoa.
