V8 Supercars 2010-11 Rabbitohs Sleeve Sponsorship

De'Longhi 2010-11 Rabbitohs Away Sponsorship Extension

The South Sydney Football Club is delighted to announce that V8 Supercars will be the Club’s new major SLEEVE corporate partner for the 2010 and 2011 seasons today. The Rabbitohs are also proud to announce the extension of De’Longhi’s partnership with the Club as the major AWAY corporate partner for the 2010 season with an option for 2011. Rabbitohs co-owner Russell Crowe was joined by Executive Chairman of V8 Supercars Australia, Tony Cochrane, and CEO of De’Longhi Australia, Paolo Albertoni, in making the announcements at ANZ Stadium today. Also present was highly decorated V8 Supercar driver, Russell Ingall. Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said that becoming a major corporate partner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs was about more than having your logo on the team’s jersey. “It truly is a partnership when organisations such as V8 Supercars and De’Longhi become involved with our Club,” Mr Richardson said. “Just as we do with our Members, our corporate partners are part of everything that we do, part of the way we think and act. “With V8 Supercars, we have the ability to partner with them to spread both the Rabbitohs’ and V8 Supercars’ brands, to tap into each other’s membership bases and to spread that tribal loyalty through both sports. “The Rabbitohs have some of the most loyal and passionate Members in the game and the passion that V8 Supercars supporters show for Ford or Holden at every race meet is second to none. “There are plenty of synergies between our organisations and we’re very excited about being able to work with another professional sporting organisation such as V8 Supercars to expand both of our businesses. “De’Longhi has been one of our most valued partners over the past 18 months and we’re looking forward to continuing our association with the company and their people. “Again, we see a lot of synergies between our organisations, as we both strive to be the leaders in our respective fields, we’re both innovative and looking for the best ways to do business. De’Longhi has become one of the most highly regarded and recognisable consumer brands in Australia and we’re delighted to part of its continuing penetration of the Australian market. “To be able to associate the South Sydney Rabbitohs with organisations such as NAB, De’Longhi, V8 Supercars and Virgin Blue is a credit to the people who have turned this Club around since private investment in 2006. “Our 15,000 Members, our 8,600 Ticketed Members and our 200-plus corporate partners will be excited to know that we can continue to attract organisations such as these to our Club and that we continue to climb upwards towards our goal of winning our 21st premiership.” Executive Chairman of V8 Supercars Australia, Mr Tony Cochrane, said the partnership would include Mr Crowe being the voice of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 in 2009. The official television commercial featuring Mr Crowe was released today. “In talking with Russell it became obvious that there was also an opportunity for these two great brands to work together in a broader partnership,” Mr Cochrane said. “The enormous passion of our millions of fans is very much alike those of the Rabbitohs, so it made perfect sense to extend the partnership across both organisations. “For us this is a step forward in cross promotion between two iconic Australian sports in the NRL and V8 Supercars.”

CEO of De’Longhi Australia, Paolo Albertoni, said: “At De’Longhi we are very excited to continue our association and partnership with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. “We have been thrilled by the level of exposure that the De’Longhi brand has received, since we began our relationship in 2008. This is truly a credit to the power of the Rabbitohs brand. “The synergies between the two brands are evident in our approach to business. Both led by determined and professional management, supporting a developing team with a strong desire, commitment and capability to succeed, coupled with a clear and strategic vision for the future. “We have developed a true partnership and we highly value the strong commitment of the Rabbitohs to the community and their Members. This is particularly relevant for an Italian brand, with a strong desire to increase brand awareness and to further enhance its connection with the Australian public.”
