2016 - The Cyber View from the Hill

3rd February 2016

Football is Back

The long wait is finally over. Team has been selected and they are on their way to Auckland. Time to erase the finalmonth of 2015 and reboot with a new year. What better way to start than the 9s carnaval of football.

Murphy, Walker, Gosiewski and Musgrove selection

A few new faces will wear the Souths colours this week in their first hitout at the top level. Interested to see how the 4 Bears players of Ed Murphy, Cody Walker, Jake Gowiseski and Kane Musgrove handle the next level this year.

Bears Trial

And over a Henson pack we will see our fringe Resrrve Grade players in action. A number of players will get their chance to show they can handle the step up from U20s, RM Cup or A-Grade and show some their raw talent.

U20s Trial

Making sure they don't miss out our young U20s commence their compaign for redemption at Redfern against arch rival the Roosters. Lots of spots up for grabs.

Juniors

Our U18s and U16s completed their pre-season hitout last week. U18s are again looking strong winning their 3 trials. U16s however have room for improvement losing both of their trials against stronger opposition.

We need a Pre-Season Comp

New year rolls around and once again we get a miss mash of trial games. RL continues to miss a great opportunity for further tv coverage. We should consider a 4 pool 3 round pre-season, played in 4 quarters, where games can be taken to the country.

Where games like teh Charity SHield can be brebooked for the 2nd week of February every year.

You can then play 2 semi finals of the 4 winners and a final during the SOO period.

Signing off for another week - the midweek Cyber View from the Hill
