The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce their squad for the first ever Gadhu Gathering in Indigenous Round 24 against the Parramatta Eels this Saturday 16 August at 7:35pm at Allianz Stadium on Bidjigal land in South Sydney territory. Rabbitohs Head Coach Wayne Bennett has named Shaquai Mitchell on the bench to replace Lachlan Hubner who is currently in the 11-day return-to-play protocols from a head knock suffered on Sunday against the Gold Coast Titans. Hubner, Aitken, Tatola, Koloamatangi, Graham, Moale, Sullivan, Murray, Penitani, O'Donnell, O'Kane, R.Gray, Ravalawa, Burns, McCarthy, Lovett, Sprague, Heslin, Hallie, Towns, Fonoti, Alhazim. Fong and Keung are out injured. Wighton is suspended.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs will be wearing their 2025 Indigenous jersey again this weekend. Gadhu Gathering, held during the second week of the NRL’s Indigenous Round, will see six Sydney-based clubs come together at Allianz Stadium on Bidjigal land in a special three-day festival celebrating Rugby League and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander culture. The word ‘gadhu’ refers to a large body of water such as the ocean in Dharawal, the overarching language spoken by the Aboriginal people belonging to Coastal Sydney. Gadhu Gathering symbolises the gathering or coming together of communities to celebrate a shared passion for rugby league and culture. Greg Inglis, will also select the winner of the Eric Simms Medal, which is presented to the player-of-the-match at full time of the match by Eric’s daughter and Worimi woman, Chelsea, and son and Worimi man, Nathan.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs’ NSW Cup team will play for the Sattler-Kelly Cup this Saturday when they take on the Western Suburbs Magpies at home on Saturday. The NSW Cup men’s team will play the Magpies at 2pm on Saturday 16 August at Redfern Oval, with the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership team kicking off against the Eels at 11:30am. The Jersey Flegg Cup under 21s men’s team will head to Lidcombe Oval to play the Wests Tigers on Saturday 16 August at 2pm.
