Siegwalt and Radel sign for 2026-27

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are delighted to announce the signing of utility back Latrell Siegwalt and middle forward John Radel for the 2026 and 2027 seasons today.
Siegwalt, 24, has been a standout performer in the QRL’s HostPlus Cup competition over the past two seasons, playing 39 matches for the Redcliffe Dolphins in 2024 including the 2024 Grand Final, as well as the Souths Logan Magpies in 2025. Siegwalt won the QRL’s Rookie of the Year award in 2024. The self-confessed Rabbitohs supporter is equally comfortable playing fullback, wing, five-eighth or halfback, and is a noted goal kicker; first playing SG Ball with the Bulldogs before coming onto the radar of NRL clubs with his performances at the 2023 Koori Knockout playing for Walgett Aboriginal Connection. He has been part of the Broncos’ system in 2025. Siegwalt will join the Rabbitohs on an NRL supplementary contract in 2026 before progressing to an NRL top 30 contract in 2027.

Radel, 22, has also been a strong performer in the HostPlus Cup competition over the past three seasons, playing a total of 37 matches, starting with Wynnum-Manly in 2023 before shifting to the Mackay Cutters in 2024 and 2025. He won the HostPlus Cup Player of the Year award for the Cutters in 2024. Radel is a former Queensland Schoolboys representative that has had pre-season trial match opportunities with the Brisbane Broncos in 2023 and the North Queensland Cowboys in 2024 and 2025. Radel will join the Rabbitohs in 2026 on a NSWRL contract before progressing to an NRL supplementary contract in 2027.

John has caught Wayne’s (Bennett) eye and he will have the chance to train full-time this pre-season, before becoming a full-time member of our NRL squad in 2027."
