Rabbitohs Hang On
In a emotional day South Sydney started well and with 15 minutes to play held a 20 point lead. Our forwards played well and set the platform, and our right side opened up the opposition. But in the space of 7 minutes we let in 3 tries as we finished the half poorly. We need to address this period where momentum changes, this is not the first time we have done this in 2026. But we remain unbeaten at home at Homebush in 2026, and have not lost in 2026 when we score first. We still need 4 more wins to make the finals. Now off to Canberra against last years minor premiers, who have dropped out of the 8 in what will be a desperate game for their 2026 chances.
Gray on the wing
Rotten luck saw Jennings go off with a very nasty gash in the leg, from a opposition steal studs. This resulted in Gray moving to unaccusomed role on the left wing. Where he marked up against tall English internationla winger. But like a bull terrior he was all over him , never allowing him a inch in a great defensive display, and he scored a try as well. South Sydney are going to have to find a way to keep both Gray and Dufty in the team.
Pele rotten luck
Franklin Pele, was starting to find his feet after coming back from France, as he regained fitness and was getting used to the pace of the game in Australia. He had started making a big impact with his poerful running coming off the bench. But on the weekend his season came to a end where he left the field with what looked like a bad arm injury. Hoping for a speedy recovery. He is what we need in the coming years.
Lenoy-Sam powerful display
With Kuscu going down in the openning minutes of the game, with a re-occurance of his leg injury, Lenoy-Sam shifted to fullback. He had a powerful running game from the back running over 200 meters and scoring a try, to be one of our outstanding players in the u21s. Looking forward to seeing him progress.
Brown leads Women back
Claudia Brown is becoming one of South Sydney's most powerful runners in the womens team. A running second rower, she hits the line with strong line speed that regularly bends the line. On the weekend she score a try the set the scene for South Sydney to dominate the second half. Keep up the good work.
Jai's Birthday Bash
Over the last month it has been a celebration of life for Jai Arrow, and on the weekend, South Sydney invited the Wiggles to lead Jai Arrow big birthday bash. With kids joining the celebration, which even included Alex Johnston jumping on stage, and a huge brithday cake and party hats handed out to the crowd. The south Sydney faithful came out in force to celebrate with him, as he battles with this disease, that has cut his career short.
