Aitken was a junior standout player playing for New South Wales juniors and Junior Kangaroos before playing for NSW Country and Australian PMXIII before playing internationals with Scotland. He developed through the Illawarra system and was experianced NRL player by the time he came to South Sydney. Having played with St George-Illawarra, Warriors and the Dolphins. Signed by South Sydney midway through 2024. He suffered a serious pec injury, mid year also, which ruled him out for the rest of the 2024 season. After recovering from injury, Aitken made his South Sydney club and first grade premiership debut in the 2025 Round 6 clash against North Queensland at Optus Stadium in Perth.
Aitken is a nuggety second rower who is a strong defender, who has the ability to fill in at centre.
