Anderson made a cameo in the 1945 Reserve Grade premiership winning squad for South Sydney.
Anderson was a young player who was graded by South Sydney in 1940. He made his South Sydney grade club and premiership debut in the 1940 Round 2 Third Grade clash against Balmain at the Sports Ground. A month later he stepped up into Reserve Grade in the 1940 Round 6 clash against Newtown at the Sports Ground. Anderson broke colarbone midway through 1940 season. Anderson would wait a year before finally making hs first grade club and premiership debut in the 1941 Round 4 clash against Canterbury-Bankstown at Belmore Oval.
Anderson was a winger who also played centre later in his career In 1942 Anderson enlisted in the RAAF and served in Darwin before returning to SOuth Sydney in 1945. He returned to play for South Sydney in 1945.
Anderson played 5 seasons for South Sydney between 1940 and 1947. He played 16 first grade club games which included 13 first grade premiership games for South Sydney. Overall he played 59 senior grade games for South Sydney which included 56 senior grade premiership games for South Sydney. He also played 1 short form game.
Anderson played his final first grade premiership game for South Sydney in the 1946 Round 16 clash against Eastern Suburbs at the Sports Ground. A few weeks later he played his final first grade game in the 1946 Tour clash against Lithgow in Lithgow. In 1947 looked to transfer to Eastern Suburbs but had not met residential qualifications and continued to play with South Sydney until the end of the season. Playing his final senior grade game for South Sydney in the 1947 Round 18 Reserve Grade clash against North Sydney at Erskineville Oval.
