Blann rugby league and cricket played for Surry Hills A.L.P. in the Metropolitian RL competition before joining South Sydney. After playing three seasons he trialed with South Sydney in 1937, but missed the cut. In 1940, he returned in 1940 during World War II to play another season. He trialled again in 1941 before finally retiring.
