Not to be confused with his cousin Reginald Victor Fusedale. Born Douglas Fusdale, he was a ballboy in the pioneer NZ "All Golds" v NSW match of 1907. A Y.M.C.A. Lifesaver who saved at least five people from drowning in 1916 at Coogee, Reg Fusedale was also a fine cricketer and Union player. After serving in the RDF(Radar defence) in England between 1917-18 he returned to Australia and came across to League. Fusedale in 1920 captain-coach in 1920 removed himself from the selection committee, when he temporary lost form.
